COMPLETE - Matisse

The Matisse is COMPLETELY FINISHED! It came back from the quilters and I think the gals at Melears did a great job as usual! I still can't believe I hand-pieced all of those 64 blocks! I think all the work was worth it - it looks awesome and I think the new owners will be very pleased with their new bedroom quilt (and matching shams!)

Twist & Shout

I'm learning a new skill of making a braid quilt with my newest project that I'm calling Twist & Shout! I'm using scrap pieces that were left over of the Ginger Blossom line (Michael Miller Fabrics) that I used in some other quilts and extra white cornerstone pieces to make this fun little pattern. I can't wait to see how this turns out!

Ooh-La-La!

Just a few blocks of a commissioned wall hanging using French General's lovely new fabric - Maison de Garance.  I love the rich browns, reds, and creams! I'm using the same random patterning as my Tango quilt for this one.  I really like the new twist on this using the dark fabric as the background. 

Matisse Updates

The Matisse quilt top is completed and at the quilters!  I can't wait to get it back to see how it looks all finished!

Cabin Fever

Being cooped up in the house due to the "blizzard" we had last week, really gave me time to start working on the Matisse Funky Log Cabin quilt!  I have 24 blocks completed/3 rows together and 40 more blocks to go.  It's going to be a King sized quilt approx 112x112.  Each piece is individually cut from Kona solids and the Alexander Henry Matisse print and no two blocks are the same!  I love the random effect to it and the Matisse insprired pieces in it are very fun to look at!

If I get a few more snow days, this quilt could be done sooner rather than later! :)
